The client needed to adapt the pool’s location due to an upcoming house extension. They aimed to remodel the pool to fit inside the previous pools shell but moved over by several meters. Additionally, they desired improvements in the pool’s depth configuration and ease of access.
To meet the client’s needs, we began by working within the existing pool area, shifting the pool over slightly to accommodate the planned house extension. This adjustment involved removing one of the previous pool’s walls. The new pool’s dimensions were 9.75m x 4.25m.
The old concrete block method of construction was replaced with an ICF system which gave the new pool a fully insulated structure. Used in conjunction with their existing air source heat pump this has dramatically reduced their pool running costs.
The new pool was fitted with all new pool fittings and a full re-plumb of the underground pipework. We also refitted the existing filtration equipment to make ongoing maintenance easier.
We also reconfigured the pool’s depth slope, deciding to swap the deep end to enhance the pool’s usability and safety. Walk-in steps were installed to provide easier and safer access to the pool.
Through careful planning and execution, we were able to remodel the pool to fit the new space, address the underground leak issues, and meet the client’s functional and aesthetic requirements.
